Fixed Fees for Motoring Offences

We also offer fixed fees for certain stages of representation. These fees include VAT unless specified otherwise.

1. Initial Consultation
- Duration: Up to 40 minutes
- Fee: Free of charge

2. Making Representations or Mitigation by Post
- Fee: £275 + VAT (20%) - (Including VAT £330)
- Includes: Reviewing evidence, preparing written submissions, and corresponding with the court.

3. Guilty Plea Representation
- Fee Range: £500 - £750 + VAT (20%) – (£600 - £ 900)

Includes:
- Reviewing evidence
- Taking your instructions
- Providing advice on likely sentencing
- Attendance and representation at a single Magistrates’ Court hearing

4. Not Guilty Plea – Trial Representation
- One-Day Trial: £2,000 + VAT (20%) + disbursements  - (£2400 + disbursements)
- Full-Day Trial: £3,000 + VAT (20%) + disbursements – (£3600 + disbursements)

Includes:
- Review of evidence and preparation of your case
- Taking witness statements
- Advice on defence strategy
- Attendance and representation in court
Additional costs for expert witness fees and specialist reports may apply (see below).

5. Exceptional Hardship Applications

Fee: £650 + VAT (20%) – (£780 including VAT)

Includes:
- Preparation of your case
- Representation at the Magistrates’ Court hearing to retain your licence

6. Special Reasons Arguments

Fee: £800 + VAT (20%) – (£960 including VAT)

Includes:

- Preparation and submission of your argument
- Representation at court

Additional Costs (Disbursements)

In some cases, additional costs may apply. These are charged separately and will always be discussed with you in advance. Examples include:

- Expert Reports: Costs vary depending on the nature of the report and the expert’s fees.
- Travel and Mileage: 45p per mile + VAT (20%) and standard parking fees.
- Court Disbursements: Fees imposed by the court, such as filing fees.

Timescales

We aim to handle all matters efficiently, but timescales are subject to court availability and case complexity. For guilty pleas, we typically anticipate attending court for half a day. For trials, preparation and attendance will take longer depending on the evidence and witnesses involved.

VAT Information

All fees are quoted exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated. VAT is charged at the standard rate of 20%.
